Make your resolutions attainable with marketing calendars
January 10, 2014
You've officially entered 2014 and have resolved to approach marketing in a more logical and organized manner. Congratulations! Hopefully, you've got your marketing plan in place with goals and tactics in place (if not, call me). The next step is organizing your plan of execution into a marketing calendar.
There are several ways you can go about organizing this information, but I have found it most helpful to have a calendar in front of me. Take a look at each month and identify your hot items for that month, always mindful of your goals. If nothing pops out as an obvious promotional item, take a look at how you might tie your product or service to a holiday or celebration occurring that month. Or if you have a slow-selling product or service (i.e. pedicures through the winter), try running a special promotion to boost sales. It's also beneficial to bring in other employees to brainstorm ideas, especially if you aren't on the front line interacting with customers on a regular basis.
Once you've got your calendar plotted out for the year, keep the current month and the next three months in front of you at all times for frequent reference. Voila! You are on your way to a logical and organized approach to your 2014 marketing!
