It's easy to get wrapped up in our daily tasks and lose sight of the big picture. We post to social media, we write blogs, update our web content, send emails.... But what is the purpose of our flurry of activity? What is the end goal? And is this activity actually moving us closer to our desired result?
It's halfway through the year, and hopefully this isn't the first time you've thought to pull out your goals you made at the beginning of the new year. Mid-point is a great time to analyze where you started, where you are and how you got here.
If you aren't on track for hitting your goals, you'll need to assess what's working and what's not. We've all heard the definition of insanity: doing the same thing over and over and expecting different results. But hold on... that doesn't mean throwing the baby out with the bathwater!
You cannot assume that because you're email response rate is low that email doesn't work. Likewise, you cannot assume that because no one mentioned your radio ad when they came in that radio is ineffective. Many variables come into play when you are analyzing your marketing results. Was the subject line intriguing? Did the music appeal to your target market? Was there a clear call to action?
If your not hitting the numbers you were banking on in your marketing, it may be time to call in an external coach or consultant for an audit. Rethink Marketing will review your marketing activity, including the frequency and consistency, as well as your marketing materials. Remember, marketing activity encompasses more than just advertising. It's your sales approach, your culture, your branding... every contact point your customer has with your company.
